The disputation with Prof. Susmel

by jan
Fatigue Calculations - May 11, 2011

I informed you in November that Prof. Susmel disagrees so expressively with the results of my research provided in my last paper published in the International Journal of Fatigue that he did not hesitate for a long time and contacted the editor of this journal with an official letter that says, in short, that I published nonsense, which is not worth reading.
Luckily, I have got the possibility to respond on his reclamation and even more luckily, the complete dialogue is just being published. You can find his charge and my response e.g. on ScienceDirect. The papers have not been linked to a particular journal number but they already exist electronically. I recommend their reading to anybody interested in the multiaxial fatigue but also to anybody interested in analyzing two very distinct views on research practice and the way of results publishing. Though there is no real end, since nobody withdraws, the readers can judge by themselves thanks to the publishing. I would like to thank to Prof. M.N. James, the editor of the IJF, for making it possible.
