Introduction

This experimental dataset corresponds to experiments managed by Prof Balda and Ing. Svoboda from CDM IT Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in 2009-2011. It was presented in below-mentioned paper in International Journal of Fatigue with a promise that the data will be made public soon. However, I was too focused on presenting the data set in a concise, organized and full way in a dedicated database, which prevented me to get to this goal soon - time by time we built databases FatLim, FinLiv, Matigue, but none of these was capable to digest random-like load histories of such a length.

Below at last, you can find the input of load cases Nos. 01-81. Unfortunately, I've found out my hard disc which contained all data crashed and I am still in search for other storages, where the complete set (up to the load case No. 129) was preserved. If found, it will be presented for download here as well.

Conditions of Use

In case you decide to use these data items for any your publication, you agree to refer to the original paper, where they are first used:

Niesłony, A.; Růžička, M.; Papuga, J.; Hodr, A.; Balda, M.; Svoboda, J.: Fatigue life prediction for broad-band multiaxial loading with various PSD curve shapes. International Journal of Fatigue 44 (2012), pp. 74-88.

Check it also for any further details about the experimental set provided below.

Experimental campaign

  • Tests performed at: CDM Institute of Thermodynamics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
  • Test operators: Jiří Svoboda, Miroslav Balda
  • Specimen:Hollow, with outer/inner diameter 30/26 mm and one-sided hole with 3 mm diameter in the critical cross-section
  • Testing machine: INOVA ZUZ200-1 electro-hydraulic testing machine
  • Test frequencies: below 10 Hz
  • Notes:
    1. The provided data correspond to the load signal retrieved by the load cell, not the desired input.
    2. The record does not relate to the first cycle, which appeared significantly different from the subsequent ones.
    3. The signals in the zip file differ by the case number and the suffix F or M to designate the load in kN or torque in N*m, respectively.
  • Data: Load cases 01-81, zip file, 151 MB.
